Black British Folk Takeover returns to Cecil Sharp House in London on Saturday, October 17, 2026. Presented by the English Folk Dance and Song Society with the Black British Folk Collective, the day explores the African diaspora’s influence on British folk music through performance, storytelling, workshops and conversation.
The announced artists include Angeline Morrison, Daudi Matsiko, Andrew Baird, Hamilton Gross, Island Girl and Muco. Linett Kamala joins a conversation and leads a Jamaican maypole dance workshop; a participatory folk club invites visitors to make music together. An online viewing option is also advertised by the organizer.
